ABOUT OUR GRAVE MARKER PROGRAM
Ever since the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution was formed in 1889, one of our most important missions has been to locate, record, and identity with a special bronze marker the grave sites of those brave men and women who served the cause of independence during the Revolutionary War.

To date, well over 100,000 such graves have been recognized, with more than 40 of them right here in our State of Wisconsin. The most recent phase of this program in Wisconsin has been to place a distinctive Historical Marker at a prominent location in each of the 26 cemeteries where Patriots are buried. Thus far, 20 markers have been installed, with only six remaining. This effort, which includes manufacturing and installation costs, is made possible by a generous match contribution from the George Washington Endowment Fund and other financial support from WISSAR members, friends of our Society, and from patriotic people like you.

For this marker, we offer special thanks to Maryann Gleisner of the Jefferson Historical Society whose wonderful support has made this dedication possible. We thank Gary Walbruck and
Jeff Kawleski for their work on Eliada's history. Councilman and Greenwood Board member William Brandel is commended for his support. We appreciate everyone involved and attending this special event.
