1861-02-02     Republican: Miss L Baker, Wednesday, badly burned from the explosion of a fluid lamp.
1861-02-02     Republican: (Chapman's Emporium) It is undoubtedly one of the largest mercantile house in the state, & is doing a business second to none. Mr Hatch, the gentlemanly manager, has won many warm friends, both for himself & the establishment, by his fair dealing & polite attention, which he pays all of his customers. Give the Emporium a call & you will ever recollect Hatch, his large stock & low prices.

1861-03-02     Republican: We learn that Mr Johnson, of Watertown, purchased the lot just north of the Jeff Bank & intends erecting a bldg early in the season & filling it with a stock of drugs.
1861-03-06     Republican: Died: Elizabeth Baker, 2/13/1861, 18, daughter of David & Ann Mariah Baker.
1861-03-14     The Rev Mr Herrick, of the new Swedenborgian Church, will preach at the Court House.
1861-03-14     Having concluded to remove the printing materials, used in publishing the Jeffersonian, to another part of the state in a few weeks, thereby discounting its publication at the end of this volume, this is to give notice to all who are indebted to pay up in 30 days.

1861-03-21     Clark & Ostrander, props. of the steam chair & bedstead manufactory, on the west side of the river, are working day & night to fill orders.
