1894-01-04     Administrators of Alonzo Wings estate are: EG Fifield, of Janesville; Orin Henry, of Jeff; & Frank Foss, of Iowa.
1894-01-04     Died: Mrs Maria Guttenberg, 12/29/1893, 69, Janesville, a pioneer of Jeff but has not lived here for many years, buried in the Catholic Cemetery beside her husband.

1894-01-04     The Jeff Flouring Mills has secured the lease on the grounds occupied by JJ Hayes coal sheds. During the summer, they expect to erect therein a warehouse to store feed, etc.
1894-01-04     Frank S Hyer, of Aztalan, appointed Supt of schools, to fill the vacancy of the resignation of JO Perkins.
1894-01-04     Puerners Hall is a splendid for holding church sociables, etc. It is provided with a kitchen, dining room, reception room, dressing room, etc, & the Hall proper is large enough to accommodate 50 or more couples for dancing.
1894-01-04     Mr & Mrs Fred Stoppenbach left to spend the winter in Texas. He is affected with pulmonary complaint & expects to find relief in the change in climate.
1894-01-11     Copeland Ryder had to reduce pay to their employees 10%, due to decreased sales & competition.
1894-01-11     The North Branch Creamery, of this town, presided over by John Doebereiner, last week put in one of the Disbrow combined churn & butter workers, & last Friday, it was set in motion for the first time. It works the whole churning in 2-5 minutes. The butter is churned, washed, salted & worked ready for packing before it is taken out of the churn.
1894-01-11     Fred Weiss sold his place, occupied by him as a meat market, to Gustav Fehrman, for $2,500. Mr Weiss will open a market in some other place than Jeff. The property Mr Fehrman thus acquires he, for many years, occupied as a saloon when owned by JC Lacey. He will remove his saloon from the Puerner block into his new quarters.
1894-01-11     The depot has lights, two 32's at the ends of the bldg & five 16's on the inside.
