Burglars in Jefferson: At Mrs Stoppenbach they secured 2 horses, carriage, harness, robes, blankets, etc. At Ludwig Stresse's, they took lots of tools. At the Jeff Co Bank, they made an attempt to break into the vault, but gave up as a bad job & left Stresse's tools lying on the floor. They gained entrance through the back door. They knocked off the combination knob & otherwise damaged the vault, but could not get it open. |
