1898-01-13     Edward J Kiessling has purchased the corner lot from Mrs Maryette Winterling, a part of the ground known as the Maydole Property. He will probably bld on the lot the coming summer.
1898-01-13     Died: Elizabeth Schiesel, 1/18/1898, 41, wife of Jos Schiesel, Town of Farmington, paralysis. Born in Town of Farmington, in 1856, as Elizabeth Seitz. Married Christian Neuer in 1874, he died 14 years ago, leaving her a widow with 4 children. Nine years ago, she married Jos Schiesel, a widower with three motherless children. This union had 3 children. A husband & 10 children survive. St Lawrence Church & Cemetery.
1898-01-13     Mrs Laura Nixon & daughter, who lived in Jeff about 5 years, moved to Mayville.
1898-01-13     Died: Mrs Charles Pohlman, 1/?/1898, 20, at the home of her parents in Concord, consumption, buried in Concord.
1898-01-13     The shops of the Wisconsin Mfg Co started with a full force again. They only worked 10 of the 12 months last year.

1898-01-20     Mr & Mrs Raasch have vacated the Mack house on Sanborn St & are now occupying the rooms over L Wollin's tailor shop.
1898-01-20     Died: John Tobin, 1/19/1898, 25, his remains were brought to Jeff & are at the home of HO Nevins. St John's Cemetery. Obituary 1/27/1898.
1898-01-20     Miss Mabel Tousley resigned as principal of the East side school & was filled by Miss Adele Henry.
