Born in Berwick, Scotland, 2/16/1833, & in 1834, came with her parents to Rochester, NY., a year after to Walworth Co., & & to Jeff a few years later. Married Albert G Locke at age 17 & had 2 sons. ME Church, Greenwood Cemetery. |

Died: John Doebereiner, Sr., 1/16/1903, 79, at his home NE of this city. Born at Roethenbach, Bavaria, Germany, 3/3/1824. Married Miss Susanna Steinel at Arzberg, Bavaria, in 1852, coming to Jeff. in 1855. A few years later, moved to a farm in the Town of Hebron until old age forced him to give up farming, when they again moved to Jeff. A widow & 3 sons survive, John F, the well known creamery man, of this city. Lutheran Church, Union Cemetery. |

Came to America in 1848 & married the late Michael Mattes (died 3/1/1887) settling in the Town of Hebron. They had 7 sons & 5 daughters. 3 sons & 2 daughters survive. Lutheran Church & Cemetery. |
