Change In Ownership: The ownership of the couch factory was changed last week, in that Ben. Schweiger & Claude Smith purchased the interests formerly owned by LM Smith & Willis Banks. The concern has now been in business a little over 2 years, beginning in a small way, & with a limited amount of capitol invested, its growth has been steady, until at the present time it is manufacturing couches that are recognized to be the equal in quality & style of those made by concerns of many times its size & with facilities that are a great deal better & more convenient. The change was brought about owing to the 2 gentlemen that are retiring, having other business interests that demands their time & attention. The new owners will, by push & energy, keep up the reputation already attained by Union couches & will endeavor to increase the demand & output so that they will be able to employ quite a few more hands. Both the new owners are young men that are popular with business men of this city, are hustlers & have many friends who will wish them success in their undertakings. |
